Design Year: 2019
This project uses structural wood for the rehabilitation of a traditional schist house in Piódão Aldeia do Xisto. Key features include engineered timber floors, glued laminated beams, and wooden roof trusses that provide seismic resilience and span open living spaces while respecting the historic envelope. This approach minimizes interventions on load-bearing xisto walls, ensuring reversible, lightweight reinforcement that aligns with heritage preservation standards.
